November/December 2025
In the first sixteen minutes that Holiday Sharing registration opened, six hundred families signed up to receive toys, and over 850 families have been confirmed so far.
Our goal is to serve ALL children, 0-10 years old, this year, which is approximately 700, and provide a minimum of three UNWRAPPED toys! And we need your help to make this all happen!
A three-month event takes time, resources, and money. How can you help:
- Participate and complete the Toy Drive Participant Survey
- Donate funds. We ask that ALL businesses donate $50 to help with expenses. All participating partners will be added to this website
- Volunteer - We have a variety of tasks that we need volunteers for, including sorting toys, helping to set up/break down, assisting families while shopping, and more.
Key Dates:
November 17 - December 10 Toy Collection
December 6 - Save the Date for Shopping Local at Potomac Yard - more to come shortly
December 11 - Last day to drop off toys as sorting and counting take place
December 12 and 13 - Families will pick up toys

VolALX engages hundreds of people, including businesses, apartment complexes, congregations, schools, scout groups, and other social clubs, as well as numerous individuals who participate by setting up a toy collection bin, organizing holiday parties, donating money to help us put this all together and purchase materials and snacks for volunteers, getting friends and families involved, and volunteering.
Since 2014, VolALX has implemented this toy drive to support Alexandria’s children. We support the Fund for Alexandria’s Children’s Holiday Sharing program and other agencies in need, as well as low-income working families not registered with an agency.

Thank you to the donors, supporters & volunteers who made 2024's Toys4ALX event the biggest one yet!
We couldn’t have done this without you! We appreciate everyone who took the time to do something for someone else. Over 80 businesses, small and large, and numerous individuals set up collection sites, hosted a holiday party, and mailed us toys for toys4ALX. See a complete list. Together, thousands of toys, small, medium, and large, games, and books were collected, sorted, counted, and bagged, then tabled and given to more than 750 children through the holiday sharing program and nine additional nonprofit organizations working with children, as well as to those families who fall through the gap.

"This event was truly magical, and I know it meant so much to all the people who came. When we volunteer, we forget about our daily routines, our small li,ofy problems. That in itself is healing to us. We might not need toys b,ut the sense of community means the most to us!" - Second-Year Toys4ALX Volunteers Fatima Martinez and Kingsley Akp.an
Over 160 volunteers of all backgrounds and beliefs came together to donate over 500 hours (valued at more than $15,000) to help others. Thank you, Santa Te,rri an,d Elf & Singer Eileen, for bringing the holiday spirit to the toy drive.
Thank you, 2024 Partners and Sponsors!
